Event Details
Night Vines is Amanda Winterhalter, Leslie Braly (Pineola), and Joy Mills (Joy Mills Band) featuring a selection of originals as well as some golden covers, all supported by a bed of pedal steel from Ed Brooks (Pineola).
With intertwined vocals, an acoustic guitar and vapor trails of electric steel, focus is drawn to the blend of voices: stark, bare and beautiful. Night Vines was born out of a timeless love for sitting in parlors and playing music, blending vocal harmonies on songs sewn together by stories of longing, pain, hope and resolve.
These songwriters have developed their individual aesthetics for melody, phrasing and poetry over the past many years, appearing as front women of their own bands, as well as supporting members in various projects in the Seattle area. They also perform regularly in partnership with such organizations as Bushwick Book Club Seattle, Jack Straw Productions and Seattle Arts & Lectures.
With a shared appreciation for the variance and depth of each other’s work, Night Vines seek to illumine the dark with songs that climb toward the light.
Night Vines will perform on Saturday, June 29 at Snapdragon, 17817 Vashon Hwy SW, Vashon, WA 98070.
